Urban Pollution in New York Environmental Justice Issue Paper

Urban pollution topic #3, 1-1.5 pages (eg. Environmental Justice Issue)

Each topic can describe one or more of the following:

A specific type of pollution (air, water, soil, waste, noise, heat) and their health effects for the urban

area,

A case study of an industrial contamination incident (i.e., Porter Ranch, Exide Technologies),

A description of a specific Environmental Justice Community, or Innovative efforts and solutions being utilized to address these issues (i.e., renewable energy, green

infrastructure, community design, waste management, electrification, etc.)

You must include data, statistics, dates, and information when presenting pollution types, measurement

levels, and health effects. Statistics can be by county, city, or a neighborhood of the urban area. Make sure to

specify the geographic unit and time period when including statistics. All sources must be cited in-text and

listed in the bibliography.
